“Ah Ya Liyyam” began as Seffarine made music in Mhamid, an oasis town and musical crossroads in the southern region her family comes from. Upbeat and Saharan-rooted, it brings her Darija vocals together with Nat Hulskamp's guitar, Malian musician Daouda Mangara on djeli ngoni, Gnawa qraqeb, calabash and Ahwach percussion, chorus, and solos capturing the session’s spontaneous energy.
